ProBook
ONLINE supports the following display resolutions: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768,
1152x864 and 1280x1024
ProBook
ONLINE relies on certain microsoft system files
to be present on your computer. If those files are missing you will be prompted to download those files. These files are safe and
you should click 'Yes'. After the download is complete (you may be prompted several times)
ProBook
ONLINE will not prompt again.
This
is normal. Once in a while GenAv Systems releases a new
version of ProBook ONLINE. When this happens your web
browser will automatically download (or may prompt you)
this new version. NOTE: see also question 10 in
case of problem.
The
ProBook ONLINE logon screen looks like this:
Unless
you are running a program called 'Virtual PC' for the
Macs, ProBook ONLINE isn't currently supported for Apple
Computers. We will develop a x-cross platform version in
the near future.
Yes,
ProBook ONLINE is supported by all Windows family OS.
We
are working on it. Contact support@genavsystems.com
for more information.
If
you are using a Linksys Wireless Router and you can't
logon to the booking system you may have an outdated
firmware in your router. Be sure to have the latest
firmware update from Linksys by comparing your formaware
and Linksys's latest at: www.linksys.com.
If
you are not receiving a response from the Server it is
most likely due to your firewall blocking incoming
messages on FTP port 21. If you have a firewall at home
you will need to set it up so that FTP port 21 is open. If
you are attempting to logon from work your system
administrator may not allow this port to be open in which
case you might want to seek permission. ProBook ONLINE
uses port 21 for data transfer.
This
is likely due to a firewall problem. Your firewall at home
(or work) is not allowing outgoing messages using FTP port
21. You will need to configure your firewall so that FTP
port 21 is open. If you are attempting to logon from work
you will need to ask your system administrator access to
port 21.
Microsoft
Internet Explorer (IE) has a habit of caching (copying) visited pages into your local hard drive. Each time
you visit a page it will check to see if that page
allready exists on your local drive, if so, it will use
that information instead of downloading it from the
website - EVEN IF THE PAGE ON THE WEBSITE IS NEWER (ie.
has the latest ProBook version). To fix this problem and
to force IE to download the web page HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT
KEY AND CLICK THE REFRESH BUTTON - you may need to hit the
refresh button a couple of times. We do not recommend
using the refresh button but in this case (ie. when
required to download the
latest version) you can do so. NOTE: normally IE will load
the latest version automatically and it works well, only
in some rare occasions that IE doesn't do a good job and so
you will need to do the above procedure - it's a neat
trick to know regardless of the website you are visiting.
To
make a booking, highlight (with the mouse) the time slots
you wish to book and click the 'Book' button. Fill-out the
information in the window and click 'Send'.
To
delete a booking, highlight your booking (by clicking on it
with the mouse) and hit the 'Delete' button. You will then
be prompted to confirm the delete action.
The
Alert button allows one to receive an email notification
when a particular time slot becomes free. In other words,
you can place an 'Alert' on an existing booking so that if
it should become free (by a cancellation) you will be
notified by email (alerting you that can you now book that
particular time slot if you wish to do so).
The
'My Account' window displays your personal information
such as telephone number, email address, night rating
privilege etc. If any information is
incorrect contact your school or club to let them know.
You cannot change this information from your end.
Normally
ProBook ONLINE will display your school's (or club) normal
operating hours. To view a booking sheet outside those
hours you will need to contact your school and be given
permission to customize your booking sheet hours and
dates.
