ProBook OnLine is the optional internet component of the GFO system. It allows your students/pilots and customers to access the scheduling system from home (or work) via the internet. The following are questions specific to ProBook OnLine.  

1. We are using a telephone line to access the internet from our school/club, will ProBook Online still work ?

2. Do we need a web site ? An email address ?

3. Our internet connection is unreliable, how would that affect our school/club operations ?

4. Is there a way to monitor (and control) bookings done over the internet ?

5. Do we need a network firewall ? Is ProBook OnLine secured ? 

6. Does ProBook OnLine offer the same user-friendly interface as GFO WorkStations ?

1. We are using a telephone line to access the internet from our school/club, will ProBook OnLine still work ?  

Yes, ProBook OnLine has been designed for slow telephone internet connectivity however you will need a dedicated telephone line so that internet users can view and make bookings with a booking that is in sync with your on-site booking sheet. If you have a cable modem or ADSL internet link (normally over the telephone line) ProBook OnLine will work just as well.  

2. Do we need a web site ? An email address ? 

Yes, you will need a web site with a 'Book Online' button so that your students and pilots can view your booking sheet. Your establishment email address is also required so that users can reply to emails sent by the Email Server. To find out more about ProBook OnLine click here. 

3. Our internet connection is unreliable, how would that affect our school/club operations ? 

The beauty of ProBook/GFO is that it allows your business to continue even if you lose all internet connectivity. The only difference you will notice is that the internet button on the Dispatch Console will turn red (from green) indicating a problem with the internet connection (further details as to why the internet connection failed can be viewed in the System Info window on the GFO Server). At this point no person can logon to the booking system via the internet therefore forcing internet users to call your school or club by telephone. 4. Is there a way to monitor (and control) bookings done over the internet ? 

Yes, GFO has a window called the Dispatch Console. All bookings made over the internet will appear in the window. Click here for more info on the Dispatch Console.

5. Do we need a network firewall ? Is ProBook OnLine secured ?  

We recommend all internet users to get a software (or hardware) firewall whether it's for your home or business. Firewalls protect your PC from outside intruders or from malicious internet attacks. ProBook OnLine is also secured. Every internet transaction contains a validation code to ensure that the message is valid. 

6. Does ProBook OnLine offer the same user-friendly interface as GFO WorkStations? 

Yes, ProBook OnLine has essentially the same graphic oriented user interface which means you point-and-click the time slots you which to book. To view a screenshot of the ProBook OnLine user interface click here.
