Salt Lake City, UT, June 6, 2004 -- GenAv Systems is pleased to announce that Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah, has selected Flight Office for their aviation program’s flight scheduling and flight office operations.
The Westminster College Flight Operations Center is located on the southeast corner of the Salt Lake City International Airport, approximately 15 minutes from Westminster College's main campus. Their new 22,500-foot corporate hangar comfortably houses their current fleet of 15 aircraft in a climate-controlled environment. The spacious hangar includes staff offices, numerous individual briefing rooms, flight training devices and a large classroom/meeting room. On campus, the Aviation Simulation Center also has a testing center and several interactive classrooms.
Flight training is based at Salt Lake City International Airport, which serves all major US and many international carriers. Westminster College knows that flight time and proper instruments are crucial to successful training which is why new facilities and top-of-the-line equipment is offered to their students. Faculty members are highly qualified and small classes foster a high level of personal attention and access.
Students can pursue a major in either flight operations or aviation management. Westminster’s Aviation program offers a B.S. degree, or, with the completion of an approved minor, a B.A. degree. The two elective options for Flight Operations majors include Flight Operations Management or Flight Instructor. In conjunction with the bachelor's degree coursework in Aviation Management, one can go on to complete a Master of Business Administration degree with a minimum of 36 additional semester credit hours. Westminster will be using GenAv System’s dynamic Flight Office TRiM (Training Resource Manager), as well as GenAv’s latest product, the new user-defined syllabus and student record keeping system. This powerful combination will provide Westminster with:
TRiM users will appreciate GenAv’s upgrades such as its ability to capture signature for certification of flight documents and flight authorizations. This digitally records such actions as student acceptance of aircraft usage terms, flight instructor certification of student flight progress, including sign off on data entry for student record modifications. Subject to the approval of aviation authorities such as Transport Canada, the FAA and CASA (Australia), this capability will eliminate the need for dispatch sheets and will result in a significant reduction of paper.
Bob Wootan, GenAv’s Vice-President for Sales and Marketing, says, “We wholeheartedly welcome Westminster College to the efficient world of GenAv Systems. We are confident that Westminster College will be completely satisfied with our products and will discover that we are here to meet their current and future needs. It’s what we do!”
