Bowling Green, OH, September 6, 2005 -- GenAv Systems came in as Bowling Green State University’s (BGSU) preferred software provider for managing its aviation program’s flight scheduling and flight office operations. Located in Bowling Green, Ohio, BGSU’s selection of GenAv’s Flight Office will facilitate and enhance current scheduling and flight training procedures.
BGSU’s Program of Aviation Studies is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 141 approved flight education and training program. The program consists of three options for study: Aviation Management and Operations (prepares students for careers with airports, general aviation facilities, airlines, consulting firms, and other organizations specializing in aviation and auxiliary business); Aviation Technical Management (prepares students for careers with organizations and companies that engage in the manufacture or maintenance of aviation components); and, Flight Technology and Operations (prepares students to enter aviation careers as pilots for global airlines, corporate aviation, or air cargo operations). Students completing the required courses of study in these programs receive a Bachelor of Science in Technology Degree upon graduation. Continued study for a Master's Degree with an aviation focus is also available.
BGSU’s Aviation Studies program indeed has much to offer. The staff is comprised of professional faculty and instructor pilots with broad aviation experiences; and, the intensive ground training and four-season, all weather, flight instruction has produced a history of excellent ratings from FAA examiners. Their aviation education and training facilities, located on the University owned airport, are adjacent to the BGSU campus and within a 5 minute walking distance of the residence halls. Scholarships, grants, financial aid and veterans benefits are available to assist students. For more information see: www.bgsu.edu
BGSU has picked a potent team! They will be using GenAv System’s Flight Office TRiM (Training Resource Manager) and GenAv’s latest product, the new user-defined syllabus and student record keeping system. This dynamic duo will provide BGSU with integrated user-defined syllabi with automatic student course scheduling; flight scheduling, dispatch and web-cam security (with all the data on local PCs); internet viewing and/or booking; invoicing and accounting integration; and, predictive maintenance (with optional integration to shop floor maintenance).
TRiM users value GenAv upgrades such as its ability to capture signature for certification of flight documents and flight authorizations. This digitally records various actions including student acceptance of aircraft usage terms and flight instructor certification of student flight progress (including sign off/on data entry for student record modifications). Subject to the approval of aviation authorities such as Transport Canada, the FAA and CASA (Australia), this capability will eliminate the need for dispatch sheets and will result in significant reduction of paper.
Bob Wootan, GenAv’s Vice-President for Sales and Marketing, says, “Thank you BGSU! We at GenAv are glad to have been your number one pick and we will not disappoint you! Together, we will score major points!”
